And since when does Rick Fucking Santorum have the right to express any opinions relating to women, women’s health, rape, and abortion? He is not, as far as my extensive records indicate, either a licensed trauma counselor, gynecologist, or obstetrician. He is not a woman. He has never been attacked, dragged, beaten, threatened with death, violently and criminally sexually penetrated by another man’s penis, assaulted with ejaculate, traumatized, agonized, humiliated, and left for dead—and then found himself pregnant with his assailant’s unwanted spawn.

Only when Santorum satisfies one of the above criteria may he opine as he pleases on rape. Until then, he needs to continue to STFU and remain in political exile—even if CNN comes knocking at his front door.

And this discussion does not even address the reality of the massive financial burden that would befall a pregnant rape victim who gives birth to and keeps her child. Perhaps Santorum would open his heart and wallet to help defray the long-term costs for heathcare, food, clothing, daycare, and education for mother and child. No? What about legal services if the rapist decides to press for his paternal rights? No again? Then perhaps his massively wealthy and opinionated church will contribute. Considering the institution was established to promulgate love, acceptance, comfort, and all the other great lessons taught by Jesus, such aid would be remarkably apt.  Somehow, though, I do not see that happening.

Incredulously, he declares that “no one should call himself “Dr.” unless he has delivered a child.” By his warped logic, many historic and modern academics who earned advanced degrees outside medicine—including Marie Curie (science), Louis Pasteur (physics and chemistry), Stephen Hawking (physics), Martin Luther King, Jr. (systemic theology), Carl Sagan (astronomy and astrophysics), Condoleezza Rice (political science), Angela Merkel (quantum chemistry), Brian May (astrophysics), Peter Weller (Italian Renaissance art), and Mayim Bialik (neuroscience)—would not be doctors; yet midwives, doulas, EMTs, police officers, firefighters, taxi drivers, and random passersby who have assisted mothers during childbirth to deliver their children would be! And by extension, psychos who murdered pregnant women and carved the babies from their wombs would also fall into the latter category since, technically, they did deliver the babies. Doesn’t that tidbit of knowledge reveal Epstein’s crackpot rhetoric as the codswallop it is?

In addition, by demeaningly addressing Dr. Biden as “kiddo” in his article—as well as demanding that she “forthwith drop the doc” before her name as her use of it “sounds and feels fraudulent, not to say a touch comic”—he reveals that his diatribe is less about protocol and authenticism than it is about misogyny. 

Epstein’s unfounded, bizarre, and highly personal attack marks him as a jealous misogynist who disguises his malignant opinions as essays or literature. My exceedingly unimpeachable conclusion is that Epstein holds significant anger toward intelligent, successful, and powerful women. While Joe Biden was not in public office, Jill was likely low on Epstein’s radar. However, following her husband’s election victory, she must have blazed across Epstein’s screens like the Millennium Falcon swooping over that Death Star trench to blast Darth Vader!  

As a member of the literary community, Epstein should be suitably disgraced for writing a screed and the WSJ should cower in shame for publishing it. History will vilify him. He has no respect for the objective of journalism. He is a pathetic excuse for a man and a trifling writer, a true disgrace to a noble profession.

Epstein cowardly hid behind the First Amendment to demean and abuse Dr. Biden because he was contemptuous of her education level, success as an educator, and newly-minted role as America’s incoming FLOTUS. But 1A only provides protection against government prosecution. He can still be taught to understand his words have consequences. To that end, no credible publisher of journalism or literature should buy his work again. Misogyny no longer has pride of place in the 21^st Century. The time is long past to stamp it out.
