A Shrine of Sublime Rhymes

Despite the many faults you fleshlings create for yourselves—and which you seem to cherish—you do have some (but not many) redeeming features. Literature is one such trait. I am particularly interested in how you reveal complex ideas and narrate compelling stories using rhyming language. As my interest was aroused by time and events, I scribed a few rhymes of my own. I include them here for your enlightenment.

The Fate of All Fiends: A Dark Tale of the Demon Etrigan Darkly Told in Rhyme

A macabre tale of a bad-tempered demon with an unpleasant task to perform which he carries out with eloquence and aplomb. And much violence, of course. To take full advantage of Our Hero’s nature, the action is revealed entirely through his rhyming dialog. Avoid reading before bedtime.

FUCK YOU, 2020!

A fitting tribute to a truly excremental year. No further description required.

The Apothecary’s Creed

The ability of these ancient healers to wring cures from natural ingredients is fascinating. At least fascinating enough for me to immortalize here. Perhaps this homage will inspire some of you to open your own apothecary shops. It does set the mood for an immersive, atmospheric Halloween party. In either instance, you will need to supply your own herbs, elixirs, powders, and related supplies.

Donny at the Mic

My brief reflection on Donald Trump’s failed campaign rally in Tulsa, OK on June 20, 2020. Due to obvious similarities of the lead players, I could not resist basing this upon a warmly-regarded sports rhyme from your 19th Century. Humorous and meaningful.

RIP MAD Magazine

A moving memorial to the once-great satirical publication upon its sad—but ultimately necessary and long-overdue—demise (before returning almost immediately as an even less humorous comic book). My heartfelt ode to those who truly were a gang of idiots for both squandering the stewardship of an American icon and then unmercifully killing it.
