Subject: The end is near!

As of noon today, Trumpworld will be closed: morally bankrupt, its lease was revoked, power cut, and policies abandoned and left for dead. Its malignant leader and his legion of enabling, career-conscious, and un-American toadies will be gone, all scattered upon the winds like dust.

This failure was not unexpected; Trumpworld was founded on a bad business model. Although it did enjoy some success with a specific niche market, far too many guests within its confines were unwelcome and abused and did not enjoy their experience. Blame lies squarely on management that was arrogant, combative, and tone deaf, and which ferociously doubled down on these traits in the last three months.

So now, after an embarrassing public rebuke in November; weeks of denials, conspiracy theories, and lawsuits during a protracted refusal to accept defeat; the steady crumbling of his once-impregnable personal and political infrastructures; inciting an insurrection against the government and nation he was elected to serve; an ignoble second impeachment; and the legacy he expected to endure until Judgment Day in shreds; Donald Trump and his family leave their castle, and the kingdom they wrought into existence, in disgrace—roasted, toasted and composted©.

Trumpworld falls in 12 hours. How will you remember today?

Subject: Twitter suspends GA Representative Marjorie Taylor Green for 12 hours due to multiple violations of the platform’s updated civic integrity policy

During her suspension from Twitter, Marjorie Taylor Greene should take a time out from her tantrums to read the First Amendment (and the Constitution as a whole). Protected speech is not a right on a private platform. How sad that she, as an elected lawmaker to the US House of Representatives, does not understand this fact.

Of course, some may argue that Taylor Greene is not as ignorant as she appears, that her cries of censorship are but an act to arouse the ire of Georgia Republicans who actually are ignorant of the benefits and limitations their right to free speech grants them.

However, as we have seen throughout this current presidency—and most certainly during the last election cycle—Republicans seem willing to believe any load of codswallop, no matter unfounded, illogical, or outright delusional, that corresponds to their preconceived notion of the truth. In other words, if Republicans were forensic specialists (work with me here), rather than seek evidence that reveals a unique truth (whatever that may be), they hold a singular truth in mind and seek only the evidence that supports it. Unfortunately, members of today’s Republican Party are not forensics specialists, and when no evidence exists to support their conception of the truth (such as, for example, instances of widespread election fraud), they immediately and fervently gravitate toward rumors, baseless allegations, and frighteningly bizarre conspiracy theories.

The far right is so entrenched in the RIGHT of the authority they believe their God and the current administration bestow upon them that they absolutely and blindly believe free speech in America is unrestricted. Never underestimate the power of zealotry. In Taylor Greene’s case, although I believe she is capable of conning her constituents, her public tantrum is not a sign of either hucksterism or lack of education. I believe she is a radical right-winger who has been deeply indoctrinated over time in a Christian conservative brand of truth, and holds no more than a knee-jerk comprehension of the First Amendment.

But that said, is one definition of the modern Republican innately superior to the other? Which is better for America? A knowledgeable person who willingly and remorselessly spreads deceit as truth to promote herself? Or, an ignorant person who unwittingly spreads ignorance as to truth to promote a cause?

Oh, Kevin. Kevin, Kevin, poor misguided, deluded Kevin. Your bitter tears of defeat may be delicious, but I am compelled to respond. The difference is one stops the spread of information—that has been investigated multiple times by multiple state & federal agencies & proved to be untrue—used to provoke attacks on the US government, while the other stops the spread of a disease that is ravaging America as well as the rest of the world. So: Can we now?

Trump MAGA cultists are trying to corrupt the definition of the word “patriot” to mean an ultra-conservative fanatic devoted to forcibly and violently dragging America back to pre-Civil War values. Subject: Time for the GOP to finally remove Trump

Trump is a cancer that has metastasized through the body of the GOP. His malignancy has destroyed the health the party enjoyed four years ago. Radical surgery is immediately required. If the GOP does not cut him out right now, their body will die. They knew the consequences of delaying this necessary action in 2016 but were too cowardly to act in the face of the political pain and loss they would suffer. This is their last chance.

The GOP must now stand united among themselves and with Democrats to take back their party from Trump and his MAGA mob. They must show radicals and traitors that insurrection WILL NOT be tolerated again. They must show the world that America is strong and undaunted in the face of terrorism. [Back to Kimmel]

January 8, 2021

Subject: Who is a Patriot?

Contrary to their popular belief, angry, deluded white nationalist Christian conservative Republicans do not have the exclusive and inalienable right to declare themselves “patriots.”

For those who seek to subvert their country’s rule of law; to plot open insurrection; to attack their seat of government; to overthrow their democracyby force of arms and mob violence; to injure and execute their fairly elected officials; and who heed the poisoned words of a would-be monarch rather than the duly verified truth, elevating their leader to messianic levels and following him with an identical fervor once reserved—and now best left buried—for the worst fiends of history: They are undeserving of that sacred name. The only name they have earned for their actions—and should hereafter be branded by—is TRAITOR.

Only those who accept their countrymen without reservation or prejudice, choose selflessness over violence, and uphold the tenants of the Constitution even during adversity or political defeat are worthy of the singular honor of the name patriot. All others need not even apply.

[UPDATE 3: January 18, 2021]

For those who do not comprehend the distinction between patriot and traitor, I have included the information below for your benefit:

Patriots: Brian Sicknick, Eugene Goodman, Daniel Hodges, Mike Fanone, Jimmy Albright, and all Capitol Police and the Metropolitan Police Department who actively engaged the Capitol Building insurgents to protect the lives of members of the US Congress and Capitol staff.

Traitors: Ashli Babbitt, Lonnie Coffman, Jacob Chansley, Richard Barnett, Eric Gavelek Munchel, Larry Rendell Brock, Derrick Evans, Nick Ochs, Joshua Pruitt, Benjamin Phillips, Kevin Greeson, Roseanne Boyland; their co-conspirators and sympathizers in the Capitol Police; President Donald J. Trump; Congress members Sen. Ted Cruz, Sen. Josh Hawley, Sen. Tommy Tuberville, Rep. Lauren Boebert, Rep. Mo Brooks, Rep. Matt Gaetz, Rep. Paul Gosar, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Green, Rep. Jim Jordan, Rep. Barry Loudermilk, and their House allies; and any American citizen who provoked, promoted, planned, supported, and/or participated in the heinous attack on the United States Capitol Building and its defenders with the express intent of overthrowing the US government, injuring and executing members of Congress, and overturning the 2020 Presidential election.

Some of that treasonous mob are crazed enough to believe that the police caused the attack by opening the building and waving said mob in. To them, we say: You have Free Will. You had a choice. You DID NOT HAVE TO GO INSIDE. Own your actions rather than blame your folly on others.

January 8, 2021

Subject: Insurgents leisurely leave Capitol Building in wake of attack

FBI, Homeland, and local law enforcement agencies should easily be able to identify these insurrectionists via facial recognition tech. A police officer was killed due to their attack. That’s not the work of Patriots. Do blue lives matter or not? None of these people should hold a US flag again.

Subject: Patriotic publisher cancels Josh Hawley book deal after the Missouri Representative continued to object to state electoral counts following the MAGA mob assault on the Capitol Building yesterday

The First Amendment guarantee of freedom of speech provides Americans with the right to say (mostly) whatever they want without abridgement from (restrictions) or prosecution by the United States government. That said, some limits do apply per past SCOTUS rulings (meaning threats, defamation, incitement, etc.).

The uninformed should understand at this point that the First Amendment does not apply to private businesses. Book, newspaper, and magazine publishers are all private enterprises that are not regulated by the federal government. As such, they are under no constitutional obligations to publish work submitted by staff members, freelancers, or new or established authors. They can reject or edit creators’ work because they have the final say on content. Since they control the business and the financial resources, they rightly determine the content they produce.

As a business, the publisher also has the right to cancel contracts that it has determined are not in the company’s best interests for any reason, including hits to their reputation.

Such concerns are customarily discussed with authors during contract negotiations. In Hawley’s specific case, the potential that he—as the author of a single obscure book on Theodore Roosevelt—had a GUARANTEE TO PUBLISH clause in his Simon & Schuster contract is highly unlikely. Certainly, no right “to compel a publisher to publish my book” is established by 1A. And unpopular business decisions—along with any potential breech of contract they may spark—are not violations of the Amendment.

Hawley has no cause to lament his fate. He damned himself by aligning with the treasonous mob that desecrated the Capitol Building. If he is unhappy with the ensuing fallout, he is free to find a different publisher who is akin to or unfazed by that support, rather than file a frivolous and legally unsubstantiated lawsuit. Alternatively, he can self-publish.

Regardless of his choice, the one decision Hawley must make is whether he has the courage of his convictions. Part of that means he must shoulder the consequences of his actions in Congress this morning with dutiful civility. He will need to accept that if he seeks to betray America and its values, he will not get to do so as either patriot, firebrand, or victim. And part of that means not taking a petty personal fight to a public forum in order to rail against a perceived injustice.

Subject: Is the female riot victim a hero vet or a domestic terrorist?

The Capitol was closed to public yesterday. Barricades were up. Capitol Police were on guard. Yet this woman, who was part of the violent mob that assaulted the Capitol, willfully, forcibly and illegally entered the building; confronted an armed officer as she tried to access a barricaded hallway; and yet proceeded to advance. She had free will to stop. She did not, so as she presented an immediate threat, she was lawfully shot to protect the lives of hundreds of members of Congress.

This woman deserves no recognition for her death. She certainly deserves none for being a veteran. She dishonored her country and mocked her oath to the Constitution. She was an insurrectionist killed in an attempt to overthrow the US government. That is unambiguous and undebatable.

All the hells in the Dark Multiverse just froze over.

January 6, 2021

Subject: Rep. Paul Gosar (R-AZ) proclaims to Senate that he is “proceeding with my objections on behalf of Arizona with Sen. Cruz and Rep. Biggs” following attack on US Capitol Building

Today was a day of violence that was fueled by inflammatory conspiracy theories of voter fraud and a betrayal of the Constitution by Congress. Yet more than a storied building was attacked. More than an institution was placed at risk—even one as sacred and foundational to America as democracy itself. Human lives were threatened. A life was lost. [Update 1/7/21: As of today, four other people are dead, including a Capitol Police officer.]

This was all the result of a gathering of thousands of insurgents that, whipped into a frenzied mob mentality by a despotic, unhinged, power-mad president, thought it could subvert the law of the land to best serve his desires and to retain the conservative, faith-based God-and-Country life they imagine for themselves.  Make no mistake: Today’s attack on the seat of power of the American government was executed by domestic terrorists who believed they could, by use of threat or force, coerce members of Congress to dishonor the Constitution by changing the results of the lawfully administered and certified 2020 Presidential Election and declare Donald Trump the winner.

To help combat this from happening again, Congress needed to stand united against such acts of domestic terrorism. Members needed to show they would not be–and could never be—intimidated to disgrace their oaths of office, irrevocably stain the guiding principles of the Constitution, and bend to the destructive will of a raging mob of traitors to the United States. And Congress had the opportunity to do so immediately tonight upon reconvening after the Capitol attack was over by dispensing with all further objections to any state’s electoral counts for Joe Biden. By giving bipartisan support to Biden’s victory, Congress would send a booming, unambiguous message to terrorists—We will not bow to you.

Despite this, Gosar pushed ahead with his petty objections that have been debunked by multiple reliable sources and were also refuted by the Republican government of his home state and the Arizona Republic. He clearly sides with terrorists and insurrectionists seeking the violent overthrow of the American government. That marks him as a traitor to the United States and all its people.

Arizona voters need to remember this snake when he runs for reelection in 2022. Traitors have no place in America—especially in government. Those found holding office at any level must be routed immediately, arrested, and shipped to Guantanamo Bay to await trial. The most dangerous traitors are those who shroud themselves in the garb of patriots.

Subject: Twitter enabling trump aided Capitol Building attack

How sad that a craven, treasonous attack on the US Capitol was required to ultimately motivate Twitter’s Jack Dorsey to follow his own company’s policies & apply them to Trump. He is fortunate violence did not escalate beyond one fatality. Still, his action is too little, too late for the victim.

UPDATE 1 (1/7/21): Three addition fatalities from the attack have been reported. The victims died from undisclosed medical conditions.

UPDATE 2 (1/7/21): A US Capitol police officer has died of injuries sustained during the assault of the Capitol Building.
